Day 1
Friday

Skopje

Welcome to Skopje, upon your arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel.
Starting at 15:00, the afternoon will be for a gentle walking tour of the center, visit Kale Fortress, the Church of the Holy Savior with its iconostas, one of the finest samples of traditional walnut woodcarving, Old Bazaar and Stone Bridge.

Saturday

Skopje - Ohrid (Macedonia)

This morning, we drive to Ohrid, this UNESCO world heritage site is known as the 'Macedonian Jerusalem' due to its large number of churches. Nestled on the shores of a large lake which is renowned for the clarity of its water. Discover highlights of Ohrid, The church of St. Sofia (11th century), the most eminent mediaeval monument in Macedonia with magnificent Byzantine fresco paintings and St. Clement Church with its icon of Annunciation.

Ohrid - Thessaloniki (Greece)

Today we set off towards Thessaloniki, famous for its UNESCO listed Paleochristian and Byzantine Monuments and the foreshore lined with cafes, cocktail lounges, bars and restaurants.

Thessaloniki - Delphi - Athens

This morning we drive to Delphi where we will explore the incredible site and museum of Delphi. The sanctuary of Delphi, where the oracle of Apollo spoke, was the religious centre of the ancient Greek world. We then continue to Athens.

Athens

Your Athens city tour starts from the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament buildings and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library and Constitution Square (Syntagma). At the Acropolis visit, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon.

Athens - Meteora

Today we head to Meteora, a unique and enchanting place where monasteries are elevated by otherworldly sandstone pillars. We spend an evening in the nearby traditional Greek village of Kalambaka.

Meteora - Tirana (Albania)

Today we leave Greece behind and head towards to Albania. En route we visit the UNESCO listed town of Gjirokastra, a rare example of a well preserved Ottoman town, and then we continue to the capital, Tirana.

Friday

Tirana - Budva - Kotor (Montenegro)

After breakfast, we have a walking tour of the town visiting the Clock Tower, Et'hem Bey Mosque, St Paul's Cathedral, National Historical Museum, Piramida, National Art Gallery and Mother Teresa Square. We then leave Albania and drive to Budva, Montenegro. Apart from its natural beauty, its bay islands and beaches, Budva is rich in historic monuments. Budva Old Town lies on a small peninsula and represents a treasure chest of culture heritage. Crossed with narrow streets and squares are famous buildings, the Church St. Trojica, housing the tomb of writer Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa, the Churches of St. Ivan, St. Bogorodica and St. Sava. We continue to Kotor, which is set on the beautiful Bay of Kotor and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Saturday

Kotor - Dubrovnik (Croatia)

We continue along beautiful southern coast of Croatia to Dubrovnik, another UNESCO World Heritage site and a city legendary for its well-preserved stone walls, and is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. On arrival, head out on a guided walk along the city walls, enjoying views of the Adriatic Sea. You'll also visit Big Onofrio's Fountain, built by the European architect Onofrio della Cava in the 15th century to supply water to the city, the 13th century Franciscan monastery and the Sponza and Rector's Palaces.
Here our tour concludes .

Notes

Please Note :
1. Group Size : Minimum Group Size of 2. Maximum Group Size of 20.
2. Age : Minimum Age of 8. Whilst there is no Maximum Age set it is assumed the customer is fit enough to take part in the activity or tour. Health documents may be requested.
3. Single travellers are obliged to pay Single Supplement and will have the hotel room to themselves.
4. In Greece the Hellenic National Tourism Organization has decided on a residence fee to be applied on hotel accommodation from 01/01/2018. The fees applied will be EUR 1.50 for 3* hotels, EUR 3.00 for 4* hotels and EUR 4.00 for 5* hotels, per room, per night and are not included in the tour price. This tax must be paid by the guests directly to the hotel before the end of the stay.
5. After reviewing customer feedback we have made changes to our 2020 Balkans itineraries in order to create more free time at the various places for people to relax and/or explore. Also we have added free days and removed some tours and made them optional. Where applicable, overnight at Split & Dubrovnik have been removed and Trogir and Mostar have been added. The tour, where applicable, still visits Split & Dubrovnik, it just doesn't stay there overnight.
6. From 2020 the city tour on Day 1 starts from your hotel at 15:00. If arriving by air on Day 1, please ensure you have allowed enough time to clear the airport, transfer to your hotel, check-in and be ready before 15:00.
7. Maybe consider flying into Skopje the day or evening before the tour starts and booking an extra night accommodation. This can be booked through your agent or Fez Travel.

10. Meteora Dress Code: The monasteries have a strict dress code. To enter the monasteries of Meteora you have to adhere to the following rules: Women will need to wear a long skirt, dress or sarong, it's not enough to keep the knees covered, so no trousers or shorts. Men must wear long pants. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed. Please make sure to have appropriate clothing before visiting the monasteries.
