In what area should I stay?
Sultanahmet/Sirkeci/Laleli/Aksaray are the best areas to stay and there are plenty of hostels/hotels to choose from. Sultanahmet square is the heart of the old city and contains sites such as the Aya Sofya (Hagia Sophia in Greek, Sancta Sophia in Latin, Saint Sophia in English, Aya Sofya in Turkish), Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace, Hippodrome, Underground Cistern and ancient city walls.
Pre Tour Accommodation booked with Fez Travel
If you have booked accommodation before your tour through Fez Travel, your hotel details are listed below. Please check your booking confirmation for the standard of accommodation you have booked and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly at the Fez Travel office.
Please note that Fez Travel will provide a shuttle bus from your hotel to the Fez Travel office, to meet your tour bus on the morning of the 24th April. Please be ready in reception from 06:30am.
How do I get to Sultanahmet and the Fez office?
We can book private transfers or shuttles for you, but if you want to do your own thing, a taxi is the easiest but most expensive way to get to Sultanahmet from the airport. A taxi should cost around 40YTL (approx 20Euro) with 'gunduz' (day time rates - from 7 am till midnight). Every 30 seconds the taxi meter should flash 'gunduz'. This means the meter is charging day rates. If the driver sets the meter to night rates, 'gece' (night) flashes up and you will pay double. If this happens, try repeating the word 'gunduz' (goondooz) a few times and hope for the best. If you get a taxi driver that has done the right thing with the meter and helped you with your bags, a tip of 1-2 Euro will be appreciated and hopefully encourage such behaviour.

Your welcome meeting will be at 7pm on April 23, at the Sultan Hostel (next door to the Fez Travel office). It is your first chance to meet your Tour leaders and travelling companions. First drink is on us, so please collect your welcome drink voucher from the Fez Travel office before the meeting.
Thank you for travelling with Fez Travel - ENJOY YOUR ADVENTURE!
