Day 1

Wednesday

Absorb yourself in history today with an afternoon walk to all the sites of Greco-Roman Athens. Explore the ancient agora, neoclassical architecture, the Roman Stadium, the Temple of Zeus and Athena Parthenos, the patron Goddess of Athens. Overnight Athens C class. (B)

Day 2

Thursday

Early morning departure for the breathtaking Island of Santorini. Soak up the sun today and relax on the beach or perhaps explore the picturesque capital, Fira. Overnight Santorini C class. (B)

Day 3

Friday

Take an optional boat trip in the world's biggest volcanic crater above sea level. Visit the active volcano, swim in the warm thermal waters and take a therapeutic mud bath. Overnight Santorini C class. (B)

Day 4

Saturday

Arrive in Mykonos and explore the white-washed town or head for the beach before experiencing the completely outrageous Mykonian nightlife. Overnight Mykonos C class. (B)

Day 5

Sunday

Spend another day on the beach or take an optional day trip to the neighbouring island of Delos. This Mecca of Ancient Greece is today an island wide, open-air museum. Overnight Mykonos C class. (B)

Day 6

Monday

Another day on the beach in paradise before we catch an overnight ferry to Samos (depending on ferry schedules). (B)

Day 7

Tuesday

Today, we make our way to Turkey with free time to explore Samos town or Kusadasi. Overnight Kusadasi. (B,D)

Day 8

Wednesday

Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus. Walk down Marble Road towards the Celsus Library and Grand Theatre. We also visit the Leather goods display. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in the world and many are made here before branding in Italy. Overnight Kusadasi. (B,D)

Day 9

Thursday

Tour the magnificent white calcium formations of Pamukkale, followed by the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers. Overnight Fethiye. (B,L)

Day 10

Friday

A lazy day boat cruise leaving from Fethiye to the 12 Islands. Board the boat for a day you won't forget. Lunch is served on the boat along the way. In the afternoon sail back to Fethiye. Overnight Fethiye. (B,L)

Day 11

Saturday

Today you have a free day to do whatever you choose. Paraglide, swim, recover, relax or take a diving tour. Overnight Fethiye. (B)

Day 12

Sunday

You have free time this morning. In the afternoon we will visit Karakoy an old Greek village and drive to Antalya. Overnight Antalya. (B)

Day 13

Monday

Begin today with a tour of the ancient ruins of Aspendos, which is known for one of the best preserved theatres of Asia Minor, this impressive theatre is still used today. En-route, we stop at an ancient Silk Road Caravanseray and enjoy the natural beauty of the Tinaztepe sink hole and cave. Visit the wonderful ancient city of Perge where St Paul preached his first sermon, it was one of the biggest ancient Roman cities in Asia Minor. Before arriving in Antalya we visit Kursunlu waterfall. Overnight Antalya. (B)

Day 14

Tuesday

Early departure for Konya, stopping en-route to visit the natural beauty of Tinaztepe sink hole and cave. Once in Konya we visitthe monasteryof the whirling servishes and the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi. Drive the afternoon toCappadocia via Sultanhani. This is a fine example of a Seljuk Caravanseri and the largest in Anatolia. Overnight Cappadocia. (B,D)

Day 15

Wednesday

Marvel at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia with a fully guided tour of Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys, Uchisar castle and more. Tonight, don't miss the optional traditional Turkish folklore evening! Overnight Cappadocia. (B,D)

Day 16

Thursday

Today we trek through the wildly beautiful Ihlara Valley and explore Derinkuyu Underground City. Overnight Cappadocia. (B,D)

Day 17

Friday

Today we visit the nation's capital, Ankara, with a tour of the Ancient Civilisation Museum. Overnight Istanbul. (B)
(Optional morning flight to Istanbul from Kayseri, Cappadocia)

Day 18

Saturday

Tour the city that spans both Europe and Asia visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the Underground Cistern and the Hippodrome. Group dinner tonight. Overnight Istanbul. (B,D)

Day 19

Sunday

After breakfast our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends. (B)
