Welcome to Istanbul, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, meet your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul

After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. Overnight Istanbul (B)

Monday 23rd April

Depart for the Gallipoli peninsula early morning and tour this now serene site. Visiting original trenches and tunnels and ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, Johnston's Jolly and The Nek before a short ferry ride across the Dardanelles. Tuesday 24th April

Today we spend the morning at the southern tip of the Gallipoli peninsula at the International Service at the Turkish memorial, Mehmetcik Abide, and then the Commonwealth service at the British memorial. We then head back across the Dardanelles and visit the archaeological ruins of Troy. Your afternoon is free to explore or rest prior to an 11 pm departure for ANZAC Cove. Overnight ANZAC Cove (B, D)

Absorb yourself in history today with a visit to the Temple of Artemis and a guided tour of the ancient city and stadium of Ephesus, before an afternoon visit to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines. We finish the day with a leather goods presentation. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in the world and many are made here before branding in Italy. Overnight Kusadasi (B, D)

Pamukkale, Hierapolis

Today we drive east for the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castles), where we also visit the ruined city of Hierapolis, an ancient resort town just above the calcium terraces. Overnight Pamukkale (B, D)

Heading south to the Mediterranean coast, we stop at the breath-taking Saklikent Gorge. Here you can tube down the river and explore the awesome canyon. Today, we also visit a carpet village and learn how carpets are made by hand, what determines their value and their historical and cultural background. Overnight Fethiye (B)

Termessos, Antalya

En-route to Antalya you visit the ancient Lykian city of Termessos which was built at a height of 1050 meters in the beautiful Taurus Mountain range. Overnight Antalya (B)

Silk Road, Konya,

Leaving the Mediterranean coast we follow an ancient Silk Road that once connected Europe and Asia. In Konya you visit the Mevlana Dervish Museum before continuing onto Cappadocia via Sultanhani Caravansary. Overnight Cappadocia (B, D)

After breakfast, our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends. (B)
